The Urbanised Bee
Dearest Rachel,
deep in the city, the drains ladened with pee
lived a nonchalant yellow striped black, the urbanised bee
always in a hurry, never once free
appointments after another, he was the urbanised bee
cocktails and martinis, straight after work
this yellow striped black maggot, could never miss a flirt
with all the other six legged mugfaces, caught up with dessert
this confused bug never could distinguish, the flowers from the dirt
he'll jump from one to another, with his coat and his hat
to attempt to love them all, even those that were flat
he'd seranade the ladies, with his buzz and his thighs
he was always a knock out, the charm amongst the flies
the ladies would flutter around, with the oohs and the ahhs
for the urbanised bee knows the sexiest moves and owns the sexiest cars
though endowed with the biggest hardest wings, to take flight when he pleased
he'd rather cruise around in his fairlady, he IS the urbanised bee
he remembers his first days in the city, how awful it used to be
till he sipped soya sauce out of a plastic tub, at a store off boat quay
a confused kid he was, back then and now
but the sauce worked its magic, it changed his life someway, somehow
maybe it was the air, or the conversations that were trailing inbetween
the two girls who were there that day, who surrounded his magic black tea
in a bam, and a boom and a zippity zam zoom
his life turned around, he even stopped catching the flu
to bee something, he thought, he started getting the gigs
he started working the flowers, he started working the figs
he got to endorse covers, a model for BeePee
he got famous just like that, he became the urbanised bee
never be afraid to give it all up, to drown your sorrows with some black tea
you'd never know what would happen, you'd never know who holds the key
someday it might all change, you might swoosh and become the urbanised bee
to be the Ray of light, and bring home some Glory
i did it! finally! haha.
