RSYC
funny how things come around in a circle sometimes. karma, hah. perhaps, maybe.
i know i've been meaning to blog for the longest time ever. and the dire need to fulfill the million other not so important things seem to overwhelm me. no one's gonna keep track of my life for me then. shuckadoos.. january flew by, just like that. all i'd remember or rather, all i'd choose to remember is that i was back in Manado. and thats that. nothing else really mattered.
jiayang, the nebber and i hung out last night. interesting. and despite the retardedness, i vaguely recall a wave of seriousness when we spoke about our responsibilities to the family etc. how nebber started to tear when he shared about his grandma, jiayang talked about how he has to give back no matter what. and i look upon my life and thought, hey, all i think about all day is to get up and take off. that if the opportunity arose, i would pack up and leave as easily as i said i would. i think i would. but the point wasnt whether i would eventually end of doing it, the crux of it all was that i thought the way i did! and it was very very evident in my family's culture. are we that different from typical asian family values? i dont know. mom's very asian, that i know for sure. robert reminds me every single day how asian she can get. so its weird, really. or maybe i'd assume that they'll understand, or maybe everyones always in different parts of the world all the time! like now, gracie's in who knows where, bangkok or somewhere exciting. pop's in China, gabriel's in the states. i'm stuck with mom. but mom would take off too and i know it.
interesting food for thought for the night. but it was fun nonetheless, enjoying the seabreeze by the RSYC. savouring the whiskey with barely any green tea left. it was a good night. its time to live my life differently. this year is supposed to be the year of supernatural change. and it should, it will be!
