miracles of misery

everything went smoothly. well.. almost everything went smoothly. ALMOST.

i cannot thank God enough for the events that took place throughout the day. it felt almost as if he was beside me. freaky thought, but it was real. i havent had a conversational prayer that lasted for most parts of the day for the longest time ever.

i got to work at 715am. impressive for gloria's standards. amazing i even woke up because getting to bed last night was difficult. it wasnt in anticipation of the race which caused the sleepnessless. gloria never worries about things like that. maybe losing sleep over diving, or traveling, but never work. so i woke up miraculously anyway, and lugged my lazy ass to office.

i knew i had tons to complete. before teeny could lash out again at me. its times like these where i realised i really miss nick. last night, running an almost midnighter till jun came and pulled me out of office. i stood on the table and screamed over to rizal about how i wished nick was here instead. i pranced from chair to chair, doing the twisty thing on the roller seat, half hoping id trip and fall and knock my crown so i wouldnt have to go through tmr's race. but i did. i survived. miraculously..

i prayed for a cheap cab ride to work, more of demanded it. the guy strangely gave me a $2 discount for no apparent reason. yay. then i got to work and prayed that i'd finish the fact sheet before teeny comes in, she came in 45mins late...miraculously. i prayed that the dreaded printer would finally spit something out tho i wasnt expecting it too since its been down since forever.. i even laid hands on it and stroke the printer to soothe its stubborn soul. and it did! it finally printed something! miraculously...

i ran around insanely ensuring everything was set up fine and dandy. ran out to pools and looked at the clouds, shit. it was definitely going to pour. i could feel it in my bones. my heart ached when i saw the sight. and i prayed and prayed and hoped everything will be alright. for some odd reason, immediately after the briefing, the clouds parted and the sun came bright out. like WHOA. where did that come from. God cleared the rain! or would have been rain, like he did so many years ago and calmed the raging sea. oh my!

the stations were carried out well. it was all good. i couldnt be happier. i had 22 teams, the exact number i had in my head. everything was good..UNTIL..

well.. tim was doing the verifications of the score sheets while i tabulated. and we somehow missed out a 50pointer mark for the group that arrived 3rd. we gave out the prizes and they asked how come they didnt win anything. and then i realised, oh shitzu. we gave out the wrong prizes. i couldnt go back and go, "aye, excuse me. give that back ah!" damn cocks man. urghahgauhuheuhughauhuahguhguh!!!! WHYYYY!!!!. on a perfectly good event with no biggies, WHYWHYWHY~!!!!!!!

now ive gotta spend another 600ish just to get another top prize. oh damn it. why did it happen. ive been sitting here the past 3 hours speculating, refusing to get up and leave. i'm exhausted. starving and bitter. why... just why.......
