crowd bird control

and i thought i'd be more determined and up to date, now that i've got a job.

guess not. the blog looks empty. I cant let it think it's gonna die a natural death, so it wont. i shant. i will resurrect it and give it a snort of life back for it to resume all functionality.

so.

life's been interesting of late. the entire month of may has been in fact. 2 weeks of interviews after a night of blasting resumes. interesting. i cannot imagine if i had done more than that. showing up at interviews might just have been a full time job then. cocky? hardly. factual more like it.

i've always believed that an interview runs both ways. the more desperate you seem, the lesser bargaining power you'd have. i guess having options did play a part. i loved my nonchalance. it oozed an aura that employers seem to dig. showing up late for interviews, not dressing the part. great job gloria, you really know how to impress.

people worry all the time about the 7 second impression imprint that the employer will have of you. pause and think for a moment, swap positions and sit in that directors chair for a minute and absorb that same intensity of power you'd naturally be infused with. loving it? that should be your mindset when you sit through an interview.

so i went for one after another, random industries, advertising agencies, pet food industry, underwater world, resorts world, mapletree investments. like the most random of randoms. it was even funny how i actually missed donning on more than a pair of shorts and tee!

horrors of all horrors, i sold myself a tad too well. i had offers from all over but managed to narrow down to 3. i was so terribly torn between underwater world, resorts world and this bird control company that i finally chose. i know God must have worked in his mysterious ways, even my dad, the most spiritual man i know, told me to pray and toss a coin and trust God. ROAR! what advice!

i hated how cheena underwater world was, though i loved loved loved the exhibits...sigh. then there was resorts world which would have be another bureaucratic zoo. and under all that glitz and glamour, there it was, humble little Mastermark Bird Control.

i knew for a fact that the environment would have been just like it was at birdpark, minus the zoo politics. my boss was a concoction of nick's diplomacy, lance's quirkiness and eugene's visionary thinking. i needed someone i could look up to. and he was it. i would have slammed the underwater world people down left right centre everyday. i would grow cold and bitter like a giant pelagic creature deep in the ocean. or i would have felt so small and inconspicuous amongst the 9000 staff at resorts world. or i could take this job up and shine like a polished trophy, the cool dude in a slamdunk pose sort, not the typical cup trophies though i know it would have been quite a fairly large..ahem..cup, if i was one.

who knows what would happen, really. its only been 2 weeks so who knows... but but but im getting a van tmr to ferry myself to work and back! whee! how uber awesome is that.. thats the best reward for being late every single day. :)
